· PVC free graphics material in action at Carlisle Youth Zone – made in Wigton
· Perfect installation creating the vision for the ‘Me Zone’
Innovia Films’ Surface Engineering Team set to work to provide the perfect vision for Carlisle Youth Zone’s relaxation space. As Platinum Patrons Innovia were delighted to support CYZ with this graphics installation.
The wall-to-ceiling graphic was printed in the Graphics Laboratory at the local plant in Wigton, Cumbria. The material used was RayoartTM GWPMatt60.This matte white PVC-free product is available in 60 and 92 micron thicknesses and is printable by UV & HP Latex. As PVC material is still widely used in many graphic arts applications, this innovative material is a sustainable alternative made from polypropylene (PP).
Steve Maude, Surface Engineering Manager says “It is great to work with CYZ again to create their vision and provide as pace for all members to enjoy. I was extremely pleased with the result and how well the material applied. This was our biggest application project to date and a brilliant opportunity to see how our material performs in terms of printing and ease of application.”
“The increased stiffness compared to PVC allows easy and accurate alignment of the panels enabling a crease-free application. I was also particularly pleased to see how well the film covered up the imperfections and colour differences on the underlying walls.” adds Maude.
Al lInnovia RayoartTM graphics films are free from plasticisers and migratory-additives so are child-friendly and ideally suited for indoor applications.
Emma Rogerson, Development Manager at Carlisle Youth Zone says “We would like to extend our thanks to local business and Patron of the Carlisle Youth Zone, Innovia Films for completing the graphics installation, such support plays a crucial role in creating an environment where young people feel safe and valued.
The MeZone will provide a quiet space in our busy clubs to allow young people toc omplete MeApps which are tools we use to measure members progress across multiple areas in the provisions they take part in at CYZ.
It will also be a space for our mentoring programme which supports a wide range of local young people with their wellbeing - this new space will be used by mentors and mentees through their sessions. Having this space designated for those things means that we will be able to facilitate more conversations, learn more about how our programmes are working to enhance young people's wellbeing and most importantly, provide children with a unique and relaxing environment to do these things in. Both members and the staff team are excited about the MeZone's opening and the young people can't wait for it to be completed to see what it's about!”
