Regulatory Affairs Scientist or Regulatory Affairs Leader

Innovia Films is a leading global manufacturer of Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) films, supplying highly differentiated speciality products into the packaging, labels, tobacco overwrap and securities markets.

A vacancy has arisen in our global Research and Development team based in Wigton, Cumbria for a full-time Regulatory Affairs Scientist or Regulatory Affairs Leader (depending upon experience). Reporting to the Sustainability and Regulatory Affairs Manager, the job will include: ·        

  • supporting the R&D, Manufacturing and Commercial teams to ensure products comply with legal obligations and related requirements
  • using legislation, technical reports and other information sources to prepare clear and accurate regulatory documents stating the status of Innovia’s products against a range of applicable regulatory standards
  • developing the department's systems to ensure colleagues have access to up-to date information about the regulatory status of raw materials and products
  • assisting with the implementation of continuous improvements to ensure the most efficient use of resources
Essential attributes include being a logical thinker and with an eye for detail; being comfortable managing and interpreting information gathered from a range of sources will be an important aspect of the role.  The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and adaptable to the evolving nature of the regulatory landscape and will possess the ability to handle multiple tasks and appropriately manage priorities within set timescales. A strong command of written English and the ability to clearly communicate detailed technical information to a wide audience is an essential part of the role.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in chemistry, toxicology or polymer science or possess equivalent relevant experience.  Familiarity and prior knowledge of regulatory topics such REACH, and EU/FDA food contact legislation would be a distinct advantage however not necessary as full training will be given to the right candidate.
